Where to Find Great Chinese Food in Sausalito

If you’re looking for ethnic food in Sausalito, there is a surprising range of choices for a town of fewer than 10,000 residents. We’ve got Italian, French, and Mexican, of course; you can also find more foreign flavors like Indian, Japanese, and even Chinese food in Sausalito too.

The San Francisco Bay Area has an incredible Chinese heritage, dating back to the city’s earliest days. While the chapters in history haven’t all been fairy tales with “happily ever after” for the city’s Chinese immigrants, today you can find a strong presence of Chinese-American residents, and correspondingly shops, markets, and restaurants.

Chinese Food in Sausalito Hero

While you certainly won’t find as many options for Chinese food in Sausalito as you might in San Francisco – and especially SF’s Chinatown neighborhood – there are a few good options if the craving for dumplings, noodles, or a rice dish strikes during your Sausalito visit.

Below you’ll find a quick explanation of the two – yes, only two – Chinese restaurants in Sausalito. (Oddly, there are two Indian restaurants and two Sushi restaurants, too… That seems to be the magic number of places Sausalito can sustain for non-Western ethnic restaurants.) Use this list to decide which one you’ll be planning a visit to, and you really can’t go wrong: both are good and will satisfy your cravings.

Sausalito is the traditional lands of the Graton Rancheria, Miwok, and Me-Wuk (Coast Miwok) peoples. With respect, I make a formal land acknowledgment, extending my appreciation to the past and present stewards of these lands. To learn more, I invite you to explore Native Land.

Other Asian Restaurants in Sausalito

Since there are only two options, I want to include a list of the other Asian restaurants in Sausalito too:

As you can see, there are other options if you are open to non-Chinese-but-still-Asian cuisine in Sausalito. There are great ethnic food options if you know where to find them! Valerie fell in love with Sausalito after her very first visit; she and her husband then moved there in 2019. It's one of her favorite places in the Bay Area and she's excited to show you the best parts of her city.
